Description
This is an Infant Massage USA (IMUSA) certification course. The student need not be a massage therapist to take this course! All we ask is that the student is at least 18 years of age and have a compassionate heart. In this class, the student will learn the history of infant massage, infant communication, the benefits of infant massage and relevant research facts. The student will be able to demonstrate knowledge & skill in guiding parents & families in the practical application of infant massage, adapt massage for special needs, and apply this knowledge & skill for use in group & private instruction. Creative marketing and public relation strategies are offered to help the student succeed in this new career. Certification enables the student to guide parents & caregivers how to massage their children. This is not a hands-on-baby course. Trainers, Instructors & Students use baby dolls to practice & demonstrate strokes. This course includes the Instrucor's Manual, the book Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents, comprehensive up-to-date course materials, the experience of a supervised parent-baby class, a first year's membership with the IMUSA and a link to our International Body headquartered in Sweden. Certification is granted after attending the full 4-day course, verified practicum hours and a take-home exam. Please see the Frequently Asked Questions for more details.
