About Suzanne

Since 1995, Suzanne has been massaging tired bodies. Bodies that are tired from stress, injury, trauma, loss, stress, surgery, pregnancy, work, stress — did we mention stress? Stress is a major part of what keeps us going, yet it is the very thing that can hold us back. There are basically two kinds of stress: 1) good stress is the happy moments like marriage, the birth of a baby, buying a new house, getting a great new job, etc… and 2) bad stress which usually involves injury, trauma, loss, divorce, etc… Both types of stress result from change, and these changes can manifest into physical, mental and emotional symptoms & problems — all of which can disrupt the balance & harmony we strive for in life. Suzanne’s goal is to provide her clients with a service and with the tools necessary to help enhance their quality of life.

In her efforts to become the best educator and practitioner she can be, Suzanne continues her studies and focuses on areas that best suit the needs of her students and clients and meet her own interests. She pursues a variety of concentrations and modalities that overlap to create a balanced & comprehensive knowledge base for an advanced and integrative approach.

As a result, Suzanne has earned National Certification in Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). She is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) for the home & office environment, Certified Pre & Perinatal Massage Therapist, Certified Instructor of Baby Massage, Internation Infant Massage Instructor Trainer, Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Doctoral Candidate (PhD.c). Suzanne addresses the Body (massage & bodywork), the Mind (therapeutic dialogue), and the Breath (yoga) – all of which nurture the balance we strive for; hence, the name of her business – Body, Mind & Breath!

Suzanne’s most recent accomplishments include her work with the Chernobyl Children’s Project International – Ireland (CCPI). In October 2005, Suzanne joined the first United States medical team to take their skills to the Vesnova Children’s Asylum in Belarus. Suzanne was the first person to introduce baby massage to the Project and the first to take it to Belarus with CCPI. Successful results became apparent in one week and are still apparent today. Suzanne will return on her second mission in February 2006.

April 2006 marks the release of Suzanne’s first book: Baby Massage – Soothing Strokes For Healthy Growth. Viking Press. Look for it on bookstore shelves!
